IN CHARACTER
Name: Joseph Joestar
Canon: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Canon Point: A short period after the end of Stardust Crusaders
Age: 67
History: I apologize in advance for this ridiculous canon.
Personality: At the core of things, Joseph is a shithead. He's a really good one, but he's far from being a goodie-good like a lot of protagonists. Guile and deception are common things in his repetoire of skills, both on their own and guiding other skills of his. He's mellowed out in his old age, but whenever his traveling party needs to do something underhanded, Joseph is the one who steps up. If he can't win by trickery, then his usual method of dealing a situation is running away from it - which is less cowardice and more stalling for time to get a better advantage or to think up a new way to approach things.
Joseph has a deep, deep love for family and friends - in his youth he's started plenty a fight over people who have slighted his relatives and friends, and brazenly dives into things with only the slightest clue as to how bad they are. Playing things by ear is his MO...which often leads into the aforementioned running away when he inevitably gets in over his head. However, he'll always pull through or die trying, and he's found himself at the mercy of a demigod and a ludicrously powerful vampire in different times of his life for the sake of saving a family member. He's also supportive of his grandson, Jotaro. He doesn't actually know him at the start of Part 3, but he flies across the world to help him out with the mysterious power Jotaro manifested, and was mostly helpful during their journey to and through Egypt. (There were a number of bumps in the road, however, the biggest being in finding out Jotaro agreed to wager his soul on a video game despite never having played one before - but even after ribbing him, he helped Jotaro covertly cheat to win.) Also related, Joseph has a soft spot for kids - Anne and Mannish Boy both manage to get Joseph to act a bit softer than usual, and generally act a lot more considerate of them than one might expect a hotheaded old man to do.
He's got a slight temper and tendency to overreact - yelling things like "OH MY GOD", "HOLY SHIT", AND "SON OF A BITCH" enough that they've become memetic outside of the series. He's a great deal less prone to intense anger than when he was young, and tends to opt for more subdued anger more often than not. In one instance when faced with the biggest chance at a clue to where Dio was hiding caused a comrade's soul to be lost in a bet, Joseph steps up with a well-thought out plan and the angriest calm stare on his face.
Joseph is also full of shit on a regular basis, in one example having claimed once that he had a wealth of camel riding experience, when all that was was watching Lawrence of Arabia multiple times, but not finishing the movie during a number of those. He's quick to be brought to task on his bravado in these cases, primarily by trying to show off and it backfiring spectacularly in his face. (In the instance of the camels, serving to annoy his friends and take much longer than it should have to mount and get riding on the camels.)
Abilities/Skills: Discussed here, though he does not use the Ripple nearly as much in his older age given the change in advarsaries and Stands becoming a more prominent combat method.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Quick thinking, Guile, Resourcefulness, Tenacity. Weaknesses: Ego, Age, Temper.
Items: Basic outfit - Dress shoes, socks, slacks, undershirt, collared shirt, arm warmers, gloves, prosthetic hand, hat

Network Sample: [There's a fascinated, fuzzy-faced old man peering into the camera.] Am I doing this right? I'm really broadcasting from this tiny thing? Oh my god! It's like Star Trek!
[The old man grins, then waves with his free hand.] Ah, hello! My name is Joseph, Joseph Joestar! I'm trying to find anyone with the same last name as me, or who's heard of the Speedwagon Foundation!

Do I just...wait for a response? How does this work? I'm not even that good with the computers back home, much less this--
